Water is provided by Public Water Supply District #1. To set up a water account with the City, one must go to the collectors office at the Wellington City Hall, 101 East 4th Street between the hours of 1:30PM and 4:30PM Monday through Friday. A meter deposit of $150.00 is required at the time of opening the account. A 10% penalty is assessed for late water bills and water is shut off 10 days after the billing due date if the payment is not made. Arrears must be paid in full to resume service and a $25.00 reconnect fee is charged. The final water bill payment is deducted from the deposit at the time that the resident vacates the premises. Water bills are mailed the first week of each month. Included on the water bill are water, sewer, and trash pickup fees.
Curbside trash pick-up is provided by Heartland Waste. Trash will be picked up every Thursday beginning around 6:00AM. Trash pick-up days may vary due to holidays. Changes in the pick-up schedule will be posted at Wellington City Hall or the post office. An $8.00 fee is included on the monthly water bill for this service.
